Hi all,
Having read the post from Jessi about DATING SCENE FOR WESTERN WOMEN lets open one for men.
Being Scottish, 24 and moving to Singapore in August after spending 1 month in HK, I intend on meeting many people in Singapore as I am permantly moving there.
I know there is a large expat community but how welcomed are we from the Locals? and what is the average age of an expat?
Open, and Honest opinions please!
Ian

Singapore Women are constantly on the look out for their Private Escalators / Elevators and they always prefer it being imported and easily amendable locally. So welcome to Singapore.

Since you probably look somewhat different from the Locals, you will attract more attention from them.

In the positive sense, of course. I dont really know the average age. Those in the company I am working for are around mid 30s.

You will be a very young expat. Most people are mid-career.

Unless he's a building construction engineer (civil, mechanical, etc.) Lot's of them around getting their feet wet as it were.

Not really. These days there are hordes who are frest Uni grads or younger - interns who are still Uni students. Lots of 20-somethings attend FNDC and met a whole bunch of German interns in the OZ dragon boat team . . . add to that foreign exchange students in the local universities. The numbers are rising steadily.
You're just hanging out with the older crowd that's all k1w1
No worries Ian, you'll be making loads of friends in no time at all
but but dating is a whole different ball game altogether . . .

Bring a big stick, you'll need it to bat off the totty throwing themselves at you. (And I'm almost serious.)

Out of pure academic curiousity... ianlaird, is the kilt the only thing worn to cover the lower extremities?
