Hmmm I'm not too sure but here's my personal take:
1) Do we need to wear formal attire for the walk-in interview? as in for guys, long sleeves and tie?
I see ALL the guys during my walk-in interview wearing formal attire, and it is best to wear formal because it shows them you are serious about wanting the job. And yes, they wore ties with their long sleeves.
2) What are my chances if i wear glasses? how about contact lenses?
Both are okay. I see people passing even in spects. As long as you look presentable, it's all gonna be fine.
3) Can i go there with a goatee? Should i go for a haircut to keep my hair short? or can i have long hair? (of course i'm no talking abt ponytail here.. )
I personally feel goatee is a lil messy, yet as long as you look neat overall, it should be ok too. Neat and tidy is the key for a good impression. U want to be able to stand out amongst 9 other job applicants during your 1st rd.
4) Wat are the questions they are likely to ask?
1st rd.. they asked my entire grp "give us a little brief intro abt urselves, what you are currently doing, and why you want to join SIA?" Same question to all 10 people.. that's y u got to stand out frm amongst the other 9, and of course for the right reasons.
5) Do i need work experience? As i am fresh from NS..
No need. I was fresh out from Poly too, with no FT work experiences under my belt. I didn't even list any PT jobs under the "past work experiences". Haha.. And they didn't qns me abt my work exp until the final mgmt rd.
6) What are they expecting from me? as in, what should i portray myself as?
Confident, passionate abt the work, pleasant personality and neat looks?? (Most ppl applying are all beautiful people.. so don't just only depend on your gd looks)
7) If the girls have kebaya round, what do the guys have?
If i'm not wrong, there's nth for u guys to do? This will have to be confirmed by another male pass-applicant. Hee.
Good luck on your walk-in. No harm trying.. because *touch wood* if you don't get in this time, you can try again the next time and treat this rd as gaining VALUABLE experience. (U'll be less nervous, more wiser & better prepared the next time rd)
Look @ it positively! And take some sweets to calm your nerves down in case too..
