I don't know whether this is intentional suicide or should I say a pilot's death wish..

There was much controversy over this particular incident and if I remember correctly there wasn't much that was conclusive due in part that the not all the wreckage was recovered. Hopefully jencrs and a few others familiar with the accident may add their worth here.

An interesting link though all the same.

I watched the episode on the crash of that flight on Aircrash Investigations, and there didnt seem to be any agreed conclusion as to the cause of the accident.

The NTSB seemed very sure that it was a suicide based on certain evidence like the pulling of the circuit breakers of the CVR and Flight Data Recorder, but the Indonesian side did not buy it.

There was a civil suit launched against the manufacturer of a certain component in the tail plane (the plaintiffs won), and it was alleged that the failure of that component caused the loss of control of the plane.

Personally, I don;t think it was suicide, but I guess we shall never know for sure.

Whoa if it WERE suicide, that's really selfish. Be responsible and kill yourself in private >=(

Yes Caratbunny. It will be very selfish to drag others down because of his own personal problems. I hope it was not suicide.
