I have done this for stress reasons - Though I suppose stress is a sickness...

Apart from that maybe once or twice to cover for an outing of golf or someother adventure. Only ever done it when I knew work was pretty clear and nothing much would crop up.

You know I used to actually feel guilty being on leave or when i was genuinely sick ! I think its either 'workaholism' or co-dependence, when our worth depends on us being somewhere or being 'needed'...

Maddness innit?!

I did that too, same reasons from Bafana although i did not get as much gulit. Sometimes just need a break from the work (weekends don't count as i would be having fun, so i take mc to really rest at home). Just like the chinese idiom, take a short rest to go even longer distance.

I think this is sad. Workers are not getting enough time for themselves while annual leave packages offered by employers these days are a bit of a joke.

We don't even get a 5-day work week! I think we got to move towards a flexi-hours working arrangement. Working away from office must be encouraged and workers must not be appraised by the number of hours they spent behind the desks.
