hi hi, yes it is better to be guided when u first start out pilates, and group size is very crucial to have safe and effective pilates experience, because u might get injured if you do some of the exercises wrongly. class should not be bigger than 12 students, unless there are other assistant instructors.

other than going to pilates studio, u can engage freelance instructor to teach at your own premises if you have few friends to share the cost with u. you will have more flexibility in terms of time and venue and benefit from the small group size too!

I did pilates at the Sports Hall. You can try it out. My instructor was Yvonne. She's good. Really help you get the position & technique right. Quite cheap too, abt $100 plus for 12 sessions. My flexibility & strength improved through Pilates. Really recommend it!

I went to Clementi Sports Hall. Most of the Sports Hall will have pilates course. If you are looking for Yvonne, you can try those at the West side & Delta Sports Hall.

I used to have back ache, did Pilate for 20 sessions, cured my backache and my abs are definitely firmer. It is good, highly recommended. Prefer this to Yoga because I find Yoga a wee bit too slow.... for me at least.
