Actually that is not true. After 3 years of service with silkair, they can request for a transfer to SQ and they will be required to attend the management interview with SQ personnel. But of course SQ must be willing to take you in and there must be a demand for more SQ stewardess. SQ will also make an exception for silkair stewardess with less than 5 o's to try out but this is only for existing silkair stewardess who have served at least 3 years as mentioned before.

So no, your chances of getting into SQ if you join silkair will not be spoilt. I know this cos i attended the management interview last march and the silkair management shared this information with the candidates.

Please gather your facts from a trustworthy source before you post such information as it may mislead potential candidates from trying out for cabin crew positions. The whole idea of this forum is to provide wannabe cabin crew with accurate information so that they can decide what is best for them in the long run :)

Well, smart casual is fine. I wore jeans and a cap sleeved tee. There were others who wore formal shirts and knee length skirts. It doesn't matter as long as you don't wear revealing outfits and you look presentable.

Good luck:)

Hi Jade,

No i am not from silkair. However I attended the previous recruitment and but failed my management round. Silkair recruitment process will be as follows:

1st round: Group interview where you will be required to give a brief introduction about yourself - Elimination

2nd round: 1 on 1 interview with the HR Manager where she will want to know more about you and your current job etc etc - Elimination

3rdround : Water confidence - You would have to jump off a mock plane (Elevated - not really very high, just don't look down)and you have to swim towards the other end of the pool backstroke style.

4th Round: Uniform fitting. Do remember to bring along a pair of heels as your posture will look so much better and smile at all times.

Final round - Management interview with a panel of interviewers followed by tea party. Please do read up on the company history if possible. Wuestions will be most likely related to your introduction. So don't say you like aeroplanes if you know nothing about it.

Succesfull candidates will be notified by email afterwhich they will be required to attend a medical assesment.

No, you are not required to apply online, you can just walk-in. ALl the best to you:)

Hi trever,

I am really not sure about that one. Though you can walk in, not sure about the chances. But good luck.

Moonyuki, Yes you will be provided with a lifevest.
