Hi all,
I'm currently pregnant and will be due this October. With the arrival of bb, I would need someone to help look after my bb and I plan to have my bb under my mum's care (my mum is in JB, M'sia). As my mum is quite old, I plan to employ a maid to help her out in JB. But on weekends, we hope to bring bb back to Singapore and ideally have the maid tag along with us as well.
Could someone pls advise if it would be legal for us to employ a maid from JB and bring her in on weekends when bb comes back to stay with us in Singapore? By the way, both of us are M'sian holding Singapore PRship. Is there any implication in doing so? Just wondering if we'll run into any immigration problem when maid travels with us under social pass to Singapore on every weekends.
Any advise is much appreciated.
Thanks!

It's perfectly legal for the maid to come to Singapore every weekend, and if she's Malaysian she's unlikely to get questioned about it. It would not be legal for her to work in Singapore during the time she's there... but who would ever find out, especially if she's legally paid in Malaysia for work done in Malaysia?

If you're working and on PEP, yes you can apply for PR. Doesn't mean you'll get it though. That still depends on lots of factors.
