Where can I find sauna in Singapore?

Post by Dolboeb » Tue, 31 Aug 2004 9:18 am

Hi everybody,

I do not stay in a condo and I stay quite far from the centre of the city (in jurong west). I wonder where I can find a sauna in that area of Singapore. Any recommendations?

(I tried to google for something like "sauna singapore" but all the first links in search results were about gay saunas... and I have a feeling that I won't feel myself really comfortable in such saunas :) )

I think there's one available at downtown east. But maybe too far from your place. However, now the market is selling those home personal sauna where you set up and small tent and sit inside with your head out. I'm not sure how much it cost, but it should be around $300.
Sauna is very hard to find in singapore unless you go to those kind of beauty salon. However, you can see if your workplace has it cos mine have.

Hmm... I live in Jurong W also and I have to admit I don't know any saunas outside my own condo. You might want to check out any gyms in the vicinity, as well as the public swimming complexes (one is quite close to Lakeside MRT).

Then again, Singaporeans don't know how to use a sauna anyway, my condo has an excellent Finnish-built stove but the mgmt strictly forbid throwing water onto it, which of course defeats the entire point.

Huh, not throwing water on it? Wouldn't it be very bad then? They might as well not open the sauna. :(

Finnish sauna

Post by ulkomalainen » Mon, 19 Oct 2009 7:52 pm

Hello, I just returned from Finland 3 days ago, and I am looking for a similar Finnish sauna with access to cold shower, or hydromassage from a water jet, ninkuin Vallila pohjois-Helsingissa.

I've asked my friends living in condos but they don't have saunas, just swimming pools with static water, no water massage. I don't want to go to a beauty spa where they only allow you to enter the sauna dry and allow 1 shower after that before leaving. I want to do it the Finnish way.

If anybody has the Finnish sauna facility, please notify me, I'm willing to paySGD10 or 5euroa to use it for a few hours.

Kiitoksia. :D
