Naming Contest - Conference and Meeting Rooms!!

Post by slmk76 » Wed, 30 May 2007 3:32 pm

Dear All,

Recently, we have just moved to our new office. And now our big boss would like to organize a Naming Contest for our conference room and meeting rooms.....Attractive prizes would be given if the name we proposed been selected! :-)

Just wish if you guys could give some nice suggestion of names for our ROOMS....haha.......Bear in mind, no flowers, no animals, no girlish type of names should be submitted!

Morever, we need to give the REASON, why we name the rooms after that name!! Kind of headache ya......Seems like prizes are not easy to win!!

If you guys are creative, do throw me some series of names!!

Appreciate that and thanks ya!!!

Regards,
SL

So if the names we suggested are selected, do we get the prize? Or just your eternal gratitude? ;-)

Give us an idea of what industry you're in. Like IT or banking...

Actual examples I've seen over the years:

- Cities (Paris, London, etc -- wonderfully confusing if you're a multinational)
- Old computer games (Arkanoid, Tetris, etc)
- Greek mythology (Athena to Zeus)
- Planets ("there's a party in Uranus and everybody's invited")
- Local street names (Orchard, Raffles, Choa Chu Kang, Geylang, Desker...)

we had this competition when we moved to the new building late last year.
spent time thinking of all the appropriate names that have got to do with sea since we're now facing the sea. we even think about names that are inline with the firm.

they ended up with? street names! :???:

good luck with the naming game :)

How about trees?

Oak, ceder, elm, redwood, pine, eucalyptus, sequoia.

Adds an international flavour & could also be seen as the "tree of knowledge" in relation to the consultancy area.

I would love to have meeting rooms named after

- People whose ideas/courage(and given that it is a meeting room where ideas are discussed) shaped the world. (Ghandi, Martin Luther King, Rosa Parks, Newton, Lincoln...)

or

-Dig out places where major historic decisions were made.

Diverting slightly, why are all the housing agents named after flowers.....the few I had met were named - lily, jasmine, rose, bougainville (OK now, I am exaggerating) ;)

SL,

How about positive words like: Perverance, Innovation, Creativity and even perhaps Serendipity?

A shopping voucher from Taka or Borders would be nice. :P

Why not call a spade a spade and call the rooms:

Slumberland
Snoozeville
Yawn Central
Dreams City
Bloody-hell-is-the-boss-ever-going-to-shut-up Hall

I will advise details for forwarding my share of the winnings shortly.

Yes it's wierd isn't it? Btw, have you found a place yet? If not send me a PM and I'll give you the details of my agent, Venus Fly-Trap. Lovely girl and found us a wonderful flat but if she invites you out for dinner, take my advice and decline!!!!

Nursey! I can hear the voices again!!!!!!!!
