hi there... I have only house sat (or being a house sitter) for free! Since you dont pay rent over that time, it works for me. But I know that people who look after pets do charge by the hour from $3 - 6 hour..if that helps.
How did you find a place to house sit as I am interested in house sitting whilst finding an apartment. Any advice where to look for house sitting posistions?

Pardon me for the ignorance.
But in Singapore, hardly people will look for house sitting. You may need to advertise your service on line.
Many people will send their pet to the pet farm (or pet hotel) while they are away

In other countries there are many people that "house sit" it is a great idea ............. one of my friends did this for 2 years and saved enough money to pay a deposit on her house. Others "house sit" in between renting of theirs, so am surprised that not more people 'house sit' here.
No rent, no power bill....lots of saving of the dollars.
So perhaps some uni students etc could start thinking along these lines as ther are many people (ex pats in particular) that would love to have someone that is honest and reliable that they could call on to 'house sit' when they travel.
