abt stamp fee

Post by Howie » Mon, 30 Aug 2004 8:56 pm

Hi, I just rent a house. What is stamp fee? Is the stamp fee a must? If I don't go to IRAS to pay the stamp fee, any bad aftereffect?

Thanks

 My agent doesn't do for me.. damn DTZ.. I read the link above. It seems it's only a procedure to make the agreement valid in court if sth happen in future. So means it's ok that I don't do it, rite?

Well ... if the landlord agrees ....

I strongly advice you to do it. You may not know what will happen during the lease ....

(For example: the landlord does not refund you the security deposit at the end of the lease, landlord does not respond when you need repairs to be done, etc ...)
