DRY CLEANER FROM HELL- BE WARNED!

Post by BLUECAT » Tue, 22 May 2007 4:43 pm

Recently I sent my $2500 winter coat to be dry cleaned by Presto Drycleaners Pte Ltd and it was returned damaged. The owner of Presto, a Mr CY Chan, was not the least apologetic about the damage and refused to offer any explanation on the cause of the damage. All he said was "I don't know! I don't know!". When I tried to get more answers, he became verbally abusive, screaming and shouting. Thereafter, he threatened not to return my coat.

Today 23rd of May (after almost one month since I sent my damaged coat back to Presto), my winter coat was finally returned to me. To my horror, Presto has, without my permission, colored over my coat to cover up the previous damage which it had caused, making matters worse. Now my coat has 2 colors. The only option now left for me is to initiate legal proceedings against Presto.

I would like to advise all consumers out there that if you have an expensive item to be cleaned, bring it back to the shop where you have purchased it from and ask the store to recommend their dry cleaners.

From my experience above, some dry cleaners are better left cleaning bed sheets and curtains and not your beloved Marni or Jill Sander.
