Eton International House v/s SAS ?

Post by movagn » Sun, 20 May 2007 9:06 am

hello, we are moving to singapore in June and did visit some school. SAS seems to be very good but location wise is kinda far for us. Eton has a new campus in Orchard which I have not gone into. Anyone has advise about those 2 schools ? I have a 4 year old daughter by the way. Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks for the feedback. Do you mind sharing your reason? And do you know which Eton is better ? :)

Well to be more balanced, lets look at it from 2 angles.

1. If SAS is too far... why bother? Its a torture to send your child to school early in the morning and get home late.
2. However If you are looking at sending your child to an environment of similar culture, SAS is a better choice.
3. Then again if you want your child to be exposed to a varied culture environment, eton is good.
4. Eton have great reputation, regardless of location. Personally i would choose an Eton near my place. Convenient for me, convenient for child. (Unless you intend to be a stay home mom)
5. Depending on what is your focus, academics, or their childhood. I have no comments on which is better, but generally preschools in singapore- regardless of whether they are International Schools or local schools-focus more on achievements.

I hope this helped, i'll try to upload some articles from the local paper for your reference.

Eton v/s SAS

Thanks again for your feedback. Yes, I am going to be a stay at home mom. However at the same time, SAS has longer waiting list and also a bit far. Even though I like the space and maybe the teaching style is similar with the one she has now here. Did you see the Eton in Orchard ? I t is supposed to be more expensive than SAS. I also heard that one being more open. I guess I need to check it out when I am back next month. :D

That would be very nice. We are coming by end of June. How old is your child in Eton ? Mine is a 4 year old girl. Who knows we can hook up. Liliana
