Hi all, will SIA acknowledge private Diploma from school(s) like MDIS? Cause i do have a private Diploma, despite me not being able to obtain my O'levels during my schooling days. Will it be a No-No for the interview, as O'level is seen as an essential part of our qualification submission?

desijoey: haha, yes it doesn't feel good for sure. Then again, they did not outrightly tell me that I failed because of height. Hence, I can't be too sure on that.
marlboro: during my time, they allowed me to put on the kebaya and do the walk even though they measured me shorter than 158cm. HTHs.
desijoey wrote:Ms G wrote:Hey desijoey,
I wanna head down as well! I went for the interview held sometime in Mar/Apr(can't quite recall) and was booted out at the kebaya round. I'm also bordering around 158cm. Got through the initial height check right but when they took mine again during kebaya, I failed apparently. hee.
Anyone wants to head for the interview together?
desijoey wrote:My advice to all SIA hopefuls:Just go and try.No harm doing so and you'll get loads of experience from it.Coz from what I've experienced it's kinda nerve wrecking and tiring. That's why I backed out from the last few interviews.
As for N Levels,I can safely tell you SIA won't accept. The one time I went to try out,a lady in my group got kicked out coz she only has ITE cert.Sorry to burst your bubble but it's true.I felt so bad for her.
The only exceptions of SIA I've come across so far(and I have real life examples too around me),is their height requirement.Coz my cousin is 157.5cm and they let her thru and now she's flying with them. She was quite shocked when I told her I was measured at 157cm and was booted.
Yep so that's my story.Hopefully it helps alittle.
Ya same here!I was also let thru at the first check point and when got booted out when they took my height during the kebaya round.Sucky right? And it's already quite tough to get thru the first group interview round. My group had only 4 out of 10 girls who went thru to the next round.

Dear marlboro,
If you read my last reply carefully, you probably would have noticed that I mentioned that I couldn't be sure why I failed kebaya round since they did not outrightly tell me tt I failed because of height. So, chill it.

Ms G:I wasn't given a chance to put on the kebaya...sigh...
Marlboro:well it's not just the height. It can be other factors too which most times we ourselves aren't even sure of.The airline industry is well known to be unpredictable so there you are.
rev12000:It must definitely be either A Levels or diploma from one of the polytechnics in Singapore.Otherwise nothing more to talk about. That's SIA for you babe...

Thanks for sharing, perhaps i should give it a try. Should they reject me, it's okay. At least i know i tried.
Thank-you, Charlene.

You should be fine. They do not do any physical checks.

SIA is pretty strict on the qualifcations but of course there are the exceptions.
