I am a Singaporean guy, I would like to voice out here.
Is not easy to get a room but nevertheless, I have found a common room in Sengkang last month. The rent is very reasonable, only S$350 with include PUB utility, air-con, build-in wardrobe. Can do like cooking, microwave, laundry and also nice and clean environment.
I'm so lucky because out there, many HDB landlords/landladies, were asking too much for a price of a common room. A common room cost more than the above amount even not in a so-called city area. Then the tenants can look for a private area thou, at least the place have more facilities like swimming pool, tennis court, etc.
My landlord told me, he charged reasonably for the rent rather than asking too much. Most importantly, good tenant is hard to come by. I fully agreed with what he said. Thank you my landlord.
