Which area suits/attracts who......

Post by kellw » Sun, 13 May 2007 6:04 pm

Ok, I just read that students are attracted to Clementi?...... I have noticed that Nassim Rd is expensive......which areas are good/bad/trendy/family based etc. I would like to get back into walking/running any areas better. I like to shop, enough said!!!!

Eg. In Melbourne Toorak/Brighton expensive: Dandenong/Cranbourne not. Williamstown/Fitzroy trendy: Ringwood/Rowville not etc etc etc

There are areas here like that too, however, it tends to be a little smaller and sometimes they blend together (much like Prahran becomes Toorak  ) and you get HDB flats next to large private homes.

You will need to come and see it for yourself to really see how it works here. One guide for you will be the price of accomodation. There are lots of enclaves around the place but it depends on what you are looking for in particular.

Lots of places to run/walk all over here, but it takes a bit of acclimatisation to do it.

It might be best to ask for info about a type of area you are hoping to find? Or what you want to stay away from? Then people could give you more ideas.

Clementi does attract students, but I wouldn't say they are in the majority. In my block (hdb) I don't know of any students, they're all families and elderly.

I do see students around of course but they're always outnumbered by the others, except at the fast food places and Botak Jones. There's also quite a few playgrounds for the littlies if you have them. The public swimming pool is also good with wading pool and full size pool for young kids. For the running/walking, there's a running/cycling track along the creek that's quite convenient, although you're more likely to find me at a hawker centre than running :)
