SOMERSET BENCOOLEN

Post by reds4eva » Wed, 09 May 2007 6:53 pm

Hi

My wife and I are coming over on June 4th and have been advised that we're staying at the SOMERSET BENCOOLEN Serviced Apartments for one month.

Does anyone know anything about these apartments? Any thoughts? Reviews?

Any information at all would be appreciated.

Thanks
Geoff

have't stayed at the bencoolen but have stayed at other somerset serviced and they are fine for a month. The location is interesting. Right beside a mosque and quite convenient. you could walk to Dhoby Ghat mrt which takes you to Orchard Rd or Raffles place (CBD). There are a couple of interesting temples close by as well. You are also within walking distance of a couple of grocery stores and you could walk to Bugis (shopping mall), Plaza Singapura or even raffles city. Only downside is that bencoolen street can get really busy on Friday and Saturday nights so depending on shich way you face and the insulation for windows.. it could be a tad noisy. Good Luck!

Stayed there initially for a few weeks with a child. The rooms are modern, clean and well laid out. Breakfast is included, small selection but adequate. The staff are friendly and helpful. There is a self service laundry, nice swimming pool on the roof top with jacuzzi to sit in the evenings and look out across the city. Location wise is good, nothing is very far in Singapore. We had a corner apartment on Bencoolen Street, yes it was little noisy with the windows open but closed it was fine.

The apartment had microwave, oven, fridge freezer, tv, dvd player, stereo etc etc. The bed was comfortable with good quality sheets, towels etc. Overall I thought it was an excellent apartment.

We had stayed in others in Singapore which were nothing by comparison in the same price range so that says something. They are a little small though, but 3 of us managed fine with heaps of luggage and boxes.
