Hi Qatarbabe,

you know what?

You should have just spit some saliva into his drink and serve it to him with a smile. :D

Serve a glass to his girlfriend as well but add a bit of nose-shit and phlegm..

Ding Dong,

Of cos I will do it in a discrete manner lah..

Do you think I will spit so much saliva into the passenger's coffee until it looks like cappucino? Or do you think I will put so much nose-shit into his tea until it looks like "bubble tea" with juicy chewy bits inside?

I worked in several restaurants before. We know how to "punish" rude and unreasonable customers in a subtle way. A bit of phelgm in their soup or a piece of greenish nose-shit in their noodles is very common. The worst thing my colleague did was to take off his socks and rub the customer's chopsticks in between his sweaty toes before serving it to the customer.

That posted above is neither a joke nor leisure; it is Funky_Punk's idea of dealing with an customer complaint on board an aircraft, posted in response to an incident a serving stewardess cited. Although I have heard of such things, I do not think they are very clever or amusing (and off-topic) so I have moved this here. Should I delete it altogether? Anybody reading this do let me know or any other mod/admin may remove it.

I really don't understand why someone in service sector can become so mean with practicing this kind of disgusting things on customers. First of all, you are there to serve these people. This is the reason why you are employed. Before you start the job as a waiter(ess) or a steward(ess), they exactly tell you what you are supposed to do. Of course there will be strange people asking stupid things or intimidating you (and for sure I hate those people too), but you are there to protect your company's image and try to solve the problems without making a mess. Otherwise leave the service sector since you are not capable of dealing with the customers.
With my kind regards

To Murat Korman,
What you see in the posts that proceeded yours is I am afraid the usual muddle-headnesses and stupidity that one so often sees in the airline careers thread. Even worse some of the mindless morons that appear there have actually gotten jobs.

While Funky Punk seems to have a reputation for this kind of nonsense, he like many others fails to realize just how diffiicult a job as a steward/stewardess can be in relation to people. This is of course the whole crux of the issue and one I would not like to do irrespective of the 'chocolate box image' of it's crew, particularly young females, the airline so often likes to portray.

I agree!! I think before one applies for any position in the service line, they should be aware of the responsibilities required which include dealing with difficult customers. Besides, one of the most important attributes required would be the willingness to please difficult customers. :)

Unfortunately, more often than not, most candidates only look at the salary, perks and ignore or disregard the challenging aspects of a job. What is life without a challenge?
