Recommend good infant care? (3.5 months old)

Post by George&Debbie » Sun, 06 May 2007 10:29 am

Hi all,
We're an Aussie family recently arrived here from the UK (long story) for work. Our son Sebastian is 3 going on 4 months old and we really need good infant care for him ASAP as work starts in a week! We have visited Eaton in the east and are wondering if anyone had any recommendations of infant care providers in other regions (north, west, city, whatever).

Any thoughts on Eaton would be great as well.

Thanks in advance. Email is [email protected] if more convenient.

Cheers
George

Hi,
there are a few options depending on how long you will be here. i am an Aussie too, but my hubby is local.

If long term, i would suggest a maid, cheaper and they live in, so more comfortable for the baby. I am really not too sure abt infant care in singapore, as i dont believe that they will look after very well. Other option is to have a at home babysitter, either your house or theirs, more likely to look after baby better. I did that for my first child and it was good. But the lady was a friend of the family and so no problem with trusting her! If you would like to go that way, you could let me know, I might be able to recommend someone. Currently I have a maid, its so much easier and doesnt require baby to get used to another new environment. good luck with your search though!

infant care

Hi,

If you are looking for infant care centers, there are a few that you might wanna consider. Joewe Preschool and Infant Center, Learning Vision, Pat schoolhouse. I would strongly consider that you pay a visit to the centres, observe how the educators handle the infants, the curriculum that the centres offer for children at such a young age. Usually, for infant centres, they tend to have a nurse on site to monitor the progress of the children. For some, having a maid is defintely cheaper as they clean the house etc and help to care for the children. While in an infant centre, the educators are all trained and license to work. They are able to teach the child, stimulate the child etc. As for maid, I have not chance upon any that could educate the young ones. Therefore it really depends on individual needs. Hope this helps.

infant care

Hi,

I've also been on the hunt for childcare for my 5 month old daughter. After much research into childcare facilities, maids and nannies I decided to go for a nanny who comes to our home to look after my daughter.

I can recommend the agency BBNanny, who found us an excellent, local nanny within 24 hours. She has extensive work experience and speaks english very well. You can reach them through the website: http://www.bbnanny.com/index.html

Hope this helps!
