If I can't find a place to watch it this weekend I may pay the $25 to attempt to watch it online. I say "attempt" because I'm staying at the Concourse this month and the interweb is pretty slow. Also I'm worried now that it's good luck for me to refrain from watching them play...

regarding playing football - I emailed Song and Eddie regarding joining you guys, but no response. Is there room for 1 more 'merican?

I was out of country and had limited access to internet. I believe i should have replied and sent you an evite by now. Nudge me, if i haven't.

A get together for SuperBowl would be great. The problem is the TIMING. We have to watch it Monday morning when everybody is working.
There are three alternatives you can watch it:
1. Local CNBC shows the replay game in the eveing of the same day.
2. Local GOAL TV (StarHub Cable) usually shows SNF and MNF live.
3. Install SLINGBOX. Go to http://www.slingmedia.com for more details. I have been using this equipment for quite sometime, and have no problem in enjoying American TV Shows.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info. I'm currently working on finding someone back home who'll be willing to install a 2nd cable box to service a slingbox for me. I know I won't have it set up in time for tomorrow morning's Giants/Packers game, which makes me sad.

As for football - how did yesterday's play go? I wasn't able to make it as the wife roped me into looking at apartments. I think we've found one so I should be available for all future games.

Also - I read about some passing routes being emailed out to people - can somebody send me a copy of that?

Would anyone have any interest in playing tackle?

Quite to the contrary - I'm ecstatic! I grew up 15 minutes from Giants Stadium after all...

My condolences to your bf...

lookin for american f'ballers here for straits times story

Post by jeanette » Fri, 25 Jan 2008 7:10 pm

Hi guys,

Jeanette here, a sports journalist with The Straits Times. I chanced upon this forum while googling "SuperBowl" and "american football in Singapore". I'm working on a feature story on American Football in the lead up to the SuperBowl for next week's Sunday Times, and was wondering if you guys were game to get featured.

Singaporeans don't really know much about American Football, so I hope you guys can help introduce the game to Singaporeans, and tell me how you keep the game alive here while miles away from home.

Also, if anyone is throwing a SuperBowl party we'd love to feature it. I need to get quotes from Patriots and Giants fans and their opinions on the teams, players and match.

I've gotta get this story done by next Wednesday (Jan 30), so if you're game, drop me an email at jwang[at]sph[dot]com[dot]sg.

Thanks and I look forward to hearing from some of you!

Warm Regards,
Jeanette Wang

It was a good time playing with you guys today.

Regarding the Super Bowl - you guys mentioned some places that would be airing it. Besides Brewerkz, what were they?
Thanks in advance

Chris
