LPR and Renting a place

Post by cpa100 » Mon, 30 Apr 2007 8:39 am

Hi,

I am a fresh grad and just got the LPR approved. However, heard that it is very hard to rent a place (apartment) in Singapore without a PR or citizen or Employment Pass status, as the owner of the place is not sure if it is safe to rent out their flat to foreigner without one of the above status...

Is it true? Can I show the owner / real etate agent my LPR letter from Singapore immigration to show my status in order to rent a place in Singapore?

Thanks in advance!

I guess there are quite many LPR applicants in this forum who had already relocated to Singapore... Anyone has experience? Please help... Please...

I don't think you should have any major problem, you're basically a PR anyway. My wife first came here on LPR and didn't have any trouble finding a place, but then again my wife gets away with things a lot of other people don't
