Shazers,

I have yet to get a feel of here. But as the feedback from one of my female friends, I met her last evening after a long time, who has been working here for over an year, she is loving this place. I think over 80% of population is expatriates working here, you will feel like an Indian city with better infrastructure and all. I don't think there would be any problem for a female working here. I you wish, I can pass my friend's email id to you, you may have more info and understanding about this place from her.

But I think I would still prefer to work and live in Singapore.. last evening I spend an hr looking for taxi.. pullin my hair.. and then end up paying more to a private car.. I can't spend my 2-3 hrs of days on the road traveling and looking around for taxi.. so you must have a car which are quite cheap here...

Bunty bhai, I have aareaddy posted a msg in dubai forum.. everyone is welcoming .. welcome..welcome...welcome...just thats all

Dubai ROCKS !! Big time.....Just give it some time, and you will be surprised to see how much the place pampers you....one gets used to it very soon...

Well, I have lived in Dubai for very long and have moved to Singapore recently...its too much of a culture difference for sure, but trust me Dubai feels belonged !!

You might feel the racism when you are new to the society, but it would only trouble you if you let it trouble you. Infact 80% of Dubai population is expats...and have better bonds with the city.

I must say, this is probably not so good a time to go to Dubai, summer is just around the corner. Dubai can get really really really hot, temp soars upto 42-45 degrees...I suggest you invest into a car very soon. There are some great second hand markets, especially the one inSharjah.

Yes, getting a cab in Dubai can be quite painful, but you see Dubai is going through a transition, traffic is much larger than the city can hold, cars and petrol is very cheap comapratively, but with the MRT coming up soon, and stricter rules on getting a driving licence, things might get under control.

GOSH I feel nostalgic !! anyways, there is a site called www.godubai.com....which might get you familiar with some basic facts and the how-to go about in Dubai.

HAPPY LIVING!!
