final management interview should be in 2 weeks time.
Congrats Ramz!!! :D

How was the passing rate overall...apart from the group interview that u've mentioned? As in like 1-1 and water confidence. Were the interviewers during group interview real young? Or they are the more matured ones?

COz not sure if u read from the other thread regarding the latest interview in singapore...they were saying the interviewers were SO YOUNG...like just came out from clg!

Anyways, hope u'll hear from SIA soon. :)

i failed in de 1st round, congrats 2 ramz n orangecake..

btw, i did smile all de way.. mayb my introduction of myself was not good.. i din mention im studying japanese, stupid me..

4/10 in my group passed. 1 looked quite ego.. 1 looked very sincere, 1 looked very innocent.. :?

found out dat attire is really not dat important

feel a bit unfair, coz 1 interviewer against 10 interviewees, he's juz like picking de ones dat he likes?? prefer whr thr r 2 or 3 interviewers, at least dey can discuss..

12345..thanks for the wishes..
about the passing rate, well hard to say much for the guys. my first round, only 3 of us made it and only abt 12-13 of us made it for WCT..i think some got axed during WCT too. frankly speaking, the others had nothing much to say + their command of the language was poor. if i was in the interviewee's shoes, i'd have done the same..
2nd stage..the interviewer was very professional and we talked a lot from SIA right up to the US president. of course, the usual questions were asked (why be a steward, what is it that you know about customer service, etc)..and he even asked me loads about my age, my future, my goals..well it was nice as i enjoyed myself..didn't quite take it as an interview..
the interviewers for the first round were pretty young but not the interviewers for the 2nd round..the guy interviewers especially! so much so for a first timer who is probably the youngest of the lot there that day!

orangecake!! it was a pleasure meeting you..haha..although we only started speaking when it was almost over..nah no problem..better prepare for the final one..it'll be great to be in training together! it's strange how i actually overheard you talking about singaporeexpats and i just asked you "are you orangecake?"..haha..cool stuff man!

cantswim..nah no worries..cheer up! you can always try the next time around..i don't believe the smiling all the way worked here..from what i observed, they were looking for confidence and english proficiency which many lacked..about the ego part, i thought many of the girls were egoistic too..but after talking to them, i realised my perception was totally wrong! i guess, it's bad judge someone just by how they look..it is indeed a fight for everyone of us, to get selected..and i really see no harm putting up an image of such..i think the interviewers picked the ones whom they feel are capable..perhaps do a postmortem and see what went wrong for you...

there was this guy whom i befriended as soon as i walked in the hotel..he told me it's his 2nd try this time around...and he said he got booted out during the 2nd interview during the january intake..and before we registered, he told me this..i'm going to make it pass the 2nd round today and i'm dead serious about it..and like said, we both passed the WCT..sometimes the fault is ours i guess..we tend to take things too seriously till we forget that we can do something to ourselves..cheers =)

ramz, thx 4 ur advice.
bout de ego part, im not judging de way she looked, it's de way she introduced herself, n wat she said.. nvm, it's over.

hope dat 1 day u'll ask me, " r u cantswim?" on board :D
best of luck on everything!

How old are you?below 20 or above 20?Why?Are you afraid that they won't select you?

Haha, like you said in a fight it is not the size of the dog that matters but the size of the fight in the dog..Just change the dog to age,and the fight to interview and you should wind up with this..

In an interview,it is not the age that matters but the size of the confidence to be able to make it in the interview..Lol

well, yes..i'm 19 and just curious if they happen to say "why not get higher education and come back next yr or sth?"..well as in being confident, it has always been there..just don't want a slight glitch to affect the whole process..should be alright..thx shazni & orangecake!
