Good evening,
I am due in a few weeks to give birth and was told i had to plan which paedetrician I would like to see for the baby's check and immunisations. Being a newbie here- just barely 4 weeks here from london- I admit to being a bit at a loss.
Some names were mentionned like Dr E K Ong, Dr Belinda or Dr Vasanthi. Would any of you have any feedback or advice you could give me. I would really appreciat.
many thanks

Hi,
My kids see Dr Vasanthi at the Kinderclinic , Paragon. She is good, takes time to listen to you and does not force any decisions on you. She is particularly capable with babies(as conveyed by my friends with new born babies). She does mornings at a clinic at Marina Parade.
The only trouble is she is expensive, so you need company medical insurance.
Hope this helps
Neeti

Hi, mine sees Dr Vas as well - not sure if I mentioned that to you before, if I did, apologies! She goes to Paragon on Mon/Wed/Fri afternoons. I have friends who go to her, others see Dr Belinda (with no complaints except she can be very straight-talking, but a very good doctor) and Dr Ang from TMC. I had Dr Ang originally and although he has a very good reputation I personally did not like him one little bit. My friend has had no complaints though. He may work out to be cheaper. We have medical coverage through work but to be honest it doesn't seem to cover anything. I have paid for almost every visit, prescription and vaccination myself. It does get expensive.

many thanks for the feedback on the paedetricians. I will have to check with our company medical cover what i includes or not. Have noticed doctors costs tend to add up quickly here when you are used to the nhs ... I could no get over being asked to pay $135 for the 2 boys pre-school admission visit to a regular gp.

Someone recently mentioned the international medical centre to me (there is one at Tanglin shopping centre, pretty sure that there is another one elsewhere too) as being good. Regular GP's, not Paeds. I suspect that the costs would be about the same though as the GPs generally are either expats, or have trained in the UK, Australia etc. If you go to a local GP it will definitely be cheaper and you should get plenty of recommendations for doctors on this site.

I take my son to Dr. Siva at Kinder Clinic at Paragon. He's worked out great for us. Gives us all the attention we need, doesn't overmedicate and most importantly - his medicines suit my son.

Agree with mothbhai about Dr Siva at Kinderclinic in Paragon.
He has great with our son and his technique is so good there aren't even any tears when it's vaccination time, although maybe that's because he's so focused on the toys e's playing with!
Also, when our little one had a very high fever, Dr Siva was there very quickly.
Dr Siva also attends at their Parkway Parade clinic on a Thursday (or maybe Friday?) if that location suits you better.

For the most part unless there is a niche website dedicated to reviewing such stores your best bet would be to look at the google reviews. They are...

If you can, try to go for an older development. The units and the facilities are usually much larger, most of the new developments are like shoeboxes.
