just curious, after reading all the bad things in this forum about Qatar and living in Doha, why do you guys still wanna apply? Do u think tt ple like us, who know about the cons of doha and QR yet still apply for it, are pitiable? :???:
Well my dear..it's up to each individual on how they handle life. Some of us are able to adapt to any environment..like me.I don't let the people and diff in culture or the hot weather in fact to put me down coz i really love my job.I am just thankful that at least i get to be what i have always wanted to be..a cabin crew.
Seriously,it's just how u see life..i've made wonderful friends here from diff countries, learnt diff cultures,it's kind of rewarding actually..
For those who did not make it through, there is always another chance.I tried for the 3rd time before i got it..and age is not a problem..even if u are 30,u can still apply for it!!.. ;o)
Thanks PrincessQatar for the encouragement!!

I can't help but agree with u TOTALLY. For most of us here, being a cabin crew has always been our DREAM~
To see our dreams come to past outweighs any other negative things tt comes along with it, no matter how bad others make it sound.

This is NOT self-consoling, and neither am I living in denial OK? I dont see why people shouldnt be optimistic in life.

dingdongbell: Yea. So SICKENING right? But happy are ple who dare venture out to see the world! Ur turn will come soon!

to all: gd luck for the oncoming screening! those who didnt make it this time, work harder, smile wider, dress smarter!! And be optimistic TOO! <-- Very IMPT!!

Agree... Agree.. ! =D> It's more of like up to individuals kinda thing.. 'Cause whatever the others wanna think off as cabin crew as a "not so glam job".. they can think all they want about it.. The most important thing is that you have a great passion for your job as a cabin crew and in that instance, i don't think any other things matters as much 'cause you are doing a job that you LOVE...!

No, Skype or any VOIP for that matter is not blocked in Doha. Let's hope Qtel (Doha's ISP) did not get any idea from Dubai...

ok, got kicked out as well...........

was surprised that only 40 were selected out of the 300. Less than 10 guys were there tdy, only 1 or 2 were chinese, majority caucasian........ for gals, majority were malays, the rest Chinese..........

So we were all numbered and had our 1 hr eng test, it was vvvvvvvv easy, during the test, we were asked to go out to have our height & weight measured............ After all these, we had 15 min break and then there came the elimination, and almost 20 ppl were kicked out.........

Obviously they were really watching us all the time, the moment you got ur name tag, or the conversation you had w/ them when they were taking ur height, they could already tell whether ur suitable to be a QR CC, felt so sad cos kinda felt tricked by the interviewer, cos I was just trying to be friendly, but to them the behavior was considered childish????

so even they come back again in 3 mths dun think can try again cos they really can recognize every single one of us who turned up tdy..........

if anyone noticed there was a caucasian guy who cut Q ytd (e one who purposely hopped 2 rows and refused to move back even a Chi guy asked him to), he was there tdy, and was even in the last 20!!! this world is unfair...........

RE: Slayer

I was kicked out after the eng test............ which one were u? i was in grey suit, no. 19, sitting on the right side 3rd row, u?

RE: bytheway

felt tricked cos they gave us 15 min break after the test, obviously they can't go thro all our papers in that 15 min and the papers were so easy dun think anyone would fail cos of that. All the interaction they had w/ us was when we queued up and got our name tags, and when we did our height & weight test. The interviewer told us b4 and after the test that they were looking at our PERSONALITY!!!!!!!!!! They used an example that even if we had very good experience, perfect grooming but still got kicked out, it may be because of our NON VERBAL BEHAVIOR, such as stuck out our tougues............ when they said that i knew i was kicked out already, thou i didn't stick out my tongue, but i showed a bit of nervousness when i couldn't find my name tag on the table, and i said "o, i lost weight" when my weight was measured, etc...........

o, well, next time better keep my mouth shut and dun even try to show any sense of humor which they would think as CHILDISH, so tat we can handle INTERNATIONAL PASSENGERS!!!!!!!!!
