Need Feedback Urgently

Post by life123 » Thu, 19 Apr 2007 5:58 am

We are moving to SIngapore in summer from Los Angeles. I need to apply at one of these International Schools for my 11 yr old son, any suggestion or feedback about these schools. I am little unsure.

Raffles International School, ERIS

OR

Singapore American School

OR

International school of Singapore

We moved here from Los Angeles too and have been happy with SAS. My kids are almost the same age as your son.

I have quite a number of expat friends who send their kids to local schools to experience the culture. The school curriculum is not much different from US elementary schools. SAS is good too. If you happen to drop by, you can PM me and I'll give you more details =)

enjoy your stay here

We will be moving over from Boston to Singapore in July and have just recieved word that our two kids got into SAS (we have a 5 year old and a 9 year old). The 5 year old got in immediately, but it seems that the older grades fill up quicker and then they begin the waiting list. Luckily, our 9 year old got in too. But it was close. Many of the other schools we looked into already had a waiting list-so keep that in mind.

I haven't heard anything bad about ANY of the schools over there, but our list became very narrow as we found that a lot of schools didn't have room for the 2007-2008 year for our two kids. So now we will decide between CIS ( Canadian International School) and SAS when we go over to find a house next month.

Wherever you decide, I was advised that you need to apply NOW before the busiest time of relocation this summer.

I agree, as long as you apply early OR, you get a local friend to make an application for you (they can do wonders, especially those naggy friends, haha) you will have no problems getting your child in =)
