buddhist centre?

Post by Marlowe » Wed, 18 Apr 2007 7:08 pm

hi ~ i am a westerner who will be moving to Singapore in a couple of weeks. i'm really excited about it! and, hope to meet up with some of you in friday night drinks, etc.

i am a buddhist convert (born catholic), and will be looking for a buddhist centre so i can join with a local sangha. i know that there are heaps of buddhist centres in Singapore, so i was hoping for some advise.

my preference is a western-themed buddhist centre, as i have found that i get a bit more out of studying and discussing buddhism with fellow adult-converts. here where i currently live (sydney), i go to the sydney buddhist centre, which is run by the friends of the western buddhist order. unfortunately, they don't have a centre in singapore, so i was wondering if any of you all could provide any advise for what i'm looking for.

thanks in advance!

peace
