(Sorry, I appreciate this is not a Relocating TO Singapore question, but can't find a better place to post it)
We may be moving to Aus soon. Have you (or anyone you know) managed to transfer your maid/helper to Aus? I know it's very difficult and I'm trying to find how to achieve this. Would appreciate your help.
Thanks.

Unfortunately for you, "basically impossible" is the answer to that one, unless you are diplomatic/consular official etc.
Suggest you look into Australian Immigration Laws. This may guide you in the right direction
http://www.dfat.gov.au/protocol/Protoco ... es/10.html
There is nothing like the local FDW laws in Australia. Even taking your maid to Australia on holiday is a difficult thing to do (and limited quite strictly to 4 weeks). Even if you do manage to sponsor your maid you will be required to pay her local wages, and she will only be required to work local working hours and have local holidays etc etc etc.

With the new workplace agreement laws in place, you can write a contract between yourself & the maid agreeing to different terms than stipulated in the award, such as minimum hours & minimum pay rates.
