UWC, SAS waiting lists

Post by second time around » Mon, 16 Apr 2007 11:33 am

Can anybody tell me how long I can expect to wait for my 12yos to clear a waiting list at UWC or SAS? Thanks much....

(Regarding my other post about ISS vs. Chatsworth...due to family reasons, we'll be putting our daughters in school in Thailand for a year before they and my wife join me in Singapore.)

UWC told me that they had 66 on waiting list for my 13 year old's enrolment (Year 8 or 9 I cannot remember because they also have cut off times re date of birth. I asked them via email how many were on wait list and they replied immediately so maybe you could do the same for both schools. They also advised that they would have a better idea end of Apri/beginning May due to notification for end of term departures.
P.S. thank you for your advice on accom. for family with spec. needs child - much appreciated! I hope I have returned the favour to some small extent!

Me again, we thought that we had no chance of being accepted into UWC but my hubby and son are there now and looking at anyway but we went ahead and enrolled him in Tanglin who have advised that he has a very good chance of being accepted in Aug/Sept. Maybe that is a standard speil but have you looked at Tanglin? I think the fees are less than UWC which I thought was the most expensive - is this right? Good luck.

Cool...thanks very much Madison. And no worries on the housing recommendations. 8-) I hope you find a fantastic location!

We've thought about Tanglin but we actually are looking for something more international or American in terms of curriculum. Nothing at all against the outstanding British curriculum education offered at Tanglin, but our daughters will very likely go to college in the US and it seems having them study at UWC or SAS would be better for that reason.

Thanks again for the info on the wait list. I'll fire off a few emails and see what they say.
