Height Issues.

Post by bakquah » Sun, 15 Apr 2007 11:09 pm

Hi all.

I have some questions in regards of height. Can somebody enlighten me with the process of height check? Does every one has to go thru to get their height measure? OR will the selected shorter among others will get their height measure?

and another, will they measure till the head or hair, meaning for guy - whom has his hair styled spike... will they measure the top of his spiked hair or flaten his hair to measure his head - ( which will be his finalised height). PLEASE HELP!

Is it true that the height scale is seemingly shorter - result?

Hi pal..

u must be a guy right? :)

Well, for the gurls, they'll definitely press down our hair.
It'd be the same for the guys too.

Or it wouldn't be fair!! :)

Are u inquiring about SIA?
If yes, Limit for guys is 1.65m and for gurls, 1.58m.

Sorry if my reply doesn't asnwer ur question as i've only been to SIA's interviews.
Heh Heh. :)

Well, For SIA walk-in,
My height measured at the hotel was accurate.
:)

So don't worry too much about the scales at the hotel.

However, when i took my height before my water-confidence round at STC, i was 1.4cm shorter. Haha!!!

But don't worry ok?
Just go for it if u satisfy the minmum height requirement.

If not, STRETCH for wadever remaining days are left!!

Thanks for your post reply.

Does it means height will be taken two times on two separate days?

I'm male, ranging about 1.64-1.65m. I'm not sure if I should go for the interview . . .

I'd like to know if there is such senario whereby a candidate whom is shorter by 1cm of the minumum height (male/female) requirement and allowed to proceed with the next process or strctly exempted?

Thanks again.

They are pretty strict with the requirements but nevertheless, you can still try. :)

That's true, I have never seen a short steward before., needless to say 1.65m. But why the cut-of height of 1.65m?

i'm sure there are 1.65m stewards, just that you guys haven't met any before!

and compared to stewardesses, there aren't that much stewards you know. so i'm sure the selection process is more stringent? more stewardesses, less stewards, but at the recruitment exercises, there are more guys turning up!

they will choose the best, but that doesn't mean that 1.65m guys haven't got a chance!

if you meet the height requirement, then it's all about how you carry yourself. height doesn't do anything much after that, you know, as long as you meet the minimum!
when strange things happen, they call it fate.

Exactly. Doesn't mean you haven't seen any, there isn't any around. I've saw a couple the last few days and I was really questioning their height too. But trust me, short FS do exist. \:D/
