any expat Christians?
Hi - my family is new in Singapore. We would like to meet other expat Christians. I am a stayhome mom of a 10 month old baby. We live in Clementi. Call me (Angie) 92393754 if you'd like to get together for fellowship or just chat on the phone.
Angie Harris, wife and stayhome mom
Why don't you come along to kids and carers on Tuesday morni
Hey why don't you come and join us at St Georges Church at Minden road on Tuesdays at 10am, you can check out our kids service or there is also MOPS at International Community Baptist on Tuesday too.

Great church!
Angie,
Hi! Also an expat Christian! We live on the East Coast, just me and my husband for now but maybe trying for kids next year. We found a great church after a few months of looking around. We go to Every Nation Chuch Singapore, look at www.everynation.org.sg It's a non-denominational Christian church that is full of great people from all over the place. Not too big, not too small. We meet at the Amara Hotel, near Shenton Way and then lots of people stay for lunch and fellowship at the food court next to the hotel. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. If you want to hear more e-mail me at janabananaconchita@gmail.com
Hope that helps.

Hi
I will be arriving Singapore in September and is wondering whether there are any churches that organize playgroups for mother and baby/kids to play together. It would be good if it is in central/Raffles Place/Clarke Quay/Bugis. But any such churches playgroups anywhere in Singapore would be a place we would like to check out.

St. George's on Minden Road (nr Botanic Garden) runs a mother/child group

They also have a drop-in playgroup on Tuesday mornings @ 10am.

I am looking for a few Christian friends, too. I have lived here 9 months, I have a 1 yr old, am a stay-at-home mom, and have no car yet. My husband is S'porean, so most of our acquaintances are S'porean. Would love to get to know a few Christian women expats - playdates and lunches would give me more reason to get out of the house.
Are there many Christian expats in mixed marriages in S’pore? Even if you're not in a mixed marriage, though, I'd love to hear from you! PMs welcome.
(By the way, I'm already a member of a church here, so I can't visit others, esp. when my husband is a pastor!

Curious, any particular reason why you single out Christians? are Muslim or Buddhist mums welcome? I am sure they are just as nice.robin_lilac wrote:I am looking for a few Christian friends, too. I’m terribly sorry for causing any misunderstanding, especially if anyone took offence. I sincerely did not mean to imply that I’m excluding non-Christians as friends. Certainly not what I intended. What I was thinking is along these lines: as a Christian, I may struggle with any number of issues that a non-Christian may not find a problem or may not understand. As such, it can be helpful to have a like-minded friend to relate to. Also, I dearly love the people in my church! Please don’t get me wrong about that. I have received advice that it’s a good idea to look for friends outside your church as well as inside. Since I am relatively young, I am trying to heed this advice as it comes from those older, wiser, and more experienced than I.
Also, I am dealing with certain cultural issues that come with culture shock, and I have tried to ask some S’poreans about my questions, but sometimes they don’t understand what I mean and they get frustrated with me. Sometimes I literally cannot understand what they are saying because they speak so quickly, and then they get frustrated with me. I figured having someone to talk to from outside the S’pore culture might help; I could find out what they have learned from their own culture shock. I thought maybe someone from outside the S’pore culture wouldn’t take offence at my questions. But maybe I am wrong.
