Hi,
I just got news about my EP application being rejected by MOM from the company that wanted to hire me.
The 1st application was actually submitted through a recruitment agency and not directly from the company that wanted to hire me for some reason (i won't be considered a direct employee since this is a 12 months contract).
So now my company is going to take the 2nd attempt by applying the EP directly without going through a recruitment agent (therefore, i'd be regarded as the company's employee on payroll).
There isn't any reason given by the MOM for my EP rejection. It could be because of my lack of experience since i'm quite a fresh graduate although having good grades.
Now my first question is, what is the chance of this 2nd application attempt? Those who had similar experience or any expert care to share ?
My second question is, what is the difference between applying through a recruitment agency and directly through the company itself?
Thanks in advanced for responding to my situation.

Need more information.
What job did you apply for? Not just a title, level of responsibility and rank within the organization?
What class of EP? P1? P2 S?
What are your credentials? "Recognized" university?
What is your total job experience and how relevant is it to the job you have been accepted for?
What additional docs can you supply that show you are a "cut above"?

Hi Strong Eagle,
I was offered a Market Research Analyst position from a reputable American Company.
It is an entry-level position involving researching and analyzing companies as well as some translation work focusing on the Asia market.
In regards to the class of EP, I believe it is a Q Pass since this is an entry-level job.
I've just graduated from a Bachelor of Science in Finance degree (First-Class Honours). And yes, it is a recognized university.
I suspect the problem lies with my lack of experience since i'm a fresh graduate because I have a few friends from the same school (some had previous working experience) who got their EP (without submitting degree certificate) and are working right now.
Second reason could be due to my submission of application without my certificate because of the fact that I've just received it.
Now I have all the transcript and certificate ready to be submitted.
So strong eagle, what's your view on my 2nd application? what's the chance? and could you tell me the difference between applying through a recruitment agency and directly through the company itself?
Thanks for responding Strong Eagle

Hi,
I am sorry to hear your news... But may I ask what your nationality is?
Although it seems to be unfair, but I heard that Chinese have much much higher level of success in applying these applications. On another hand, some nationalities like The Philipines, have very very low level of success...
So, please let us know what your nationality is? (If you don't mind)

Hi cpa,
I'm of Indonesian Nationality, a Chinese Indonesian to be precise.
I went to the company this afternoon to sort out things for the new EP application. The company did not want to go for an appeal because my first EP application was submitted through a recruitment agent (i was regarded as the recruitment agent's employee, not the company's employee).
This time round, they will submit my new application tomorrow with additional documents:
1. A copy of my certificate (which i didn't submit earlier since i just received it).
2. A letter from the company explaining that my job scope/requirement is actually kind of rare or hard to obtain in Singapore (kind of relating to more translation work for that matter)
3. Since the company will apply for my EP directly, I'd be regarded as the company's employee on payroll which was not the case on the first application.
I'm just worried that my lack of experience will cause some problem. So lets hope all these additional documents will be helpful in a way.
