Hi all, I'm a new mother and have been advised that I should stop breast feeding at the age of 12 months. I was doing searches on breast feeding and came across this article on how a british mother was breast still feeding at the ages of 5 and 9.
Would this not emotionally scar children?
The article is here if you would like to read it:

I actually saw the article in the papers about a week ago. I guess I'm scarred for life, at almost 60 I still like to "latch on" occasionally!
I would would guess up to two years is okay but beyond? Would seem a bit much to me.

I fed my first son till he weaned himself at 12 months. I wasnt ready to stop but he wasnt prepared to go on! the second one was 3+ when I decided i wanted my body back and since he was having a cursory drink before bed only I asked him if he was ready to stop. He said yes and after a couple of weeks of having the last night he just stopped. it totally depends on what your comfortable with I guess and it should be between you and your child not anyone else. The second child is now 13, very independant and acts old for his age. He is evry comfortable in his own skin and is a very social person with boys and girls and adults. I dont think it had much to do with the breastfeeding though I think thats just him!

It is really weird and scary. How about the mom, isn't it very inconvenient for her and the baby is already very big at that age. I did not quite get it very well, the mom has milk for 8 years!

Current Covid 19 measures till June 13th?

Any guesses if the 14th extends till the end of June or July?
Last post
I think they are opening up slowly as the cases are reduced and unlinked cases lesser as well.
Good news and hopefully it stays this way.
