can I extend a tourist visa while waiting for an EP

Post by lsac0902 » Mon, 02 Apr 2007 8:35 pm

Hello,

has anybody experienced the following: my husband is waiting for his employment pass and I for the dependant visa. We would like to move to Singapore before having the answer of the immigration because I'm 5 month pregnant already. If we move before having the answer, can we extend our tourist visa without crossing the border (we both have French passport and get only 1 month tourist visa)? or do you think we'd better wait for the final answer in case the immigration rejects the visa request?

thank you in advance

Yes you can.

Go down to the ICA Builoding on Victoria Street with a copy of your applications and ask for an interview. Show them your docs and ask for an extension.

lsac,

I knew of a guy who had to ask for an extension of his tourist visa since he was waiting for his EP to be approved. His visa was extended twice.

thanks for your answers. Then, we will consider the option of moving before having the answer for our visas.
