Yes, finally that will be my final accomodation, in two weeks...
I would like to begin to search some services and utilities in the area, before going there. My flat will be very near Bedok MRT, so, if any of you is living in the area...
- Do you know any good language school in the area? Im not looking for any certification. I would like to take some english lessons (perhaps a couple of monts) for improving quickly, and then learn mandarin 4 years (time enough?). No needed the same place for both languages, of course.
- Any gym? I don't need any superb place. Only any place for doing some exercises for myself and keep fit, because im not doing any sport since i have arrived Singapore....
You will know about the flat warming soon!

Just what I have been looking for: a near and not expensive place, but my question is about something I have read in the website:
"The Singapore Sports Council has set up fitness gyms island-wide to give Singaporeans easy and affordable access to a great workout in a pleasant setting. We offer:"
If it's sponsored by the Council, is really available for non-singaporeans?

Yes, non-Singaporeans can use the gym as well.
Either
(a) just pay $2.50 per entry or
(b) bring your passport along if you want to sign up as a member.

So will you be cooking paella for your flat warming party? And will the forum members be invited?

hi asdracles,
which part of bedok are you at?
if you are keen in learning language, why not try at the bedok community centre - as far as i know they do conduct some language lesson.
bedok is indeed a nice place to stay..
everything is easily accessible as well

Just Block 1 Bedok South, Avenue 1, 500 m. to Bedok MRT
Thanks for all your info. After moving there (16th), I will go to Community Centre and will ask for courses. Also the gym information was very useful. So Germangirl, sure that I will ask you lot of things about the neighbourhood!
Thanks everybody!

Glad to know you're settling fine there. In a few weeks' I'll be in your position... hunting for a place to stay there.
So no paella for the party ey?

So sad...
