Shocking Truth!!!

Post by Funky_Punk » Sun, 15 Apr 2007 9:06 pm

Hi people, you guys know the main reason why Cathay finally decides to set up a Singapore base after all these years? And then decides to let all the Singapore crew fly the SIN-COLOMBO route?

This is due to a recent bombing of a military base next to Colombo airport. More than a hundred over passengers and crew were stranded at the Colombo airport last month due to the terrorist bombings and had nowhere to go. My friend who is currently working in CX said that many Hongkong crew are terrified of flying that route and all of them refused to take up this route which is why they suspend it. Further bombings on the airport are suspected by the police.

Out of no choice, Cathay decides that rather than letting its own fellow Hongkongers take the risk, it is setting up a Singapore base which only flys the Singapore - Colombo route.

Don't you guys get it? They are putting us at risk for the benefit of their own Hongkong crew. Both Singaporeans and Malaysians alike.

And you guys are so excited and happy about it?

Wake up guys!

Cathay Pacific suspends Colombo services until further notice

Cathay Pacific Airways has taken the decision to suspend its flight operations to and from Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka, until further notice. The decision follows the closure of Colombo’s International Airport early this morning after the bombing of a nearby military base. Safety is a top priority at Cathay Pacific and a careful assessment of the situation will be made before services are resumed.

The airline confirms that the 119 passengers on this morning’s CX700 flight from Colombo to Bangkok and Hong Kong are safe and are currently being accommodated in downtown hotels. Cathay Pacific will operate its CX710 service early on Tuesday morning (scheduled depart time 0040 local time, 0310 Hong Kong time, 27 March 2007) to get the passengers to their destinations.

Members of the press are urged to monitor the airline’s website, www.cathaypacific.com, where the most up-to-date information will be posted as details are confirmed.

if you're here just to put our morales down, or wanna say something to stop us, then forget it, ya?

and for your info, they decided to open a SIN base before the colombo thingy happened.

if you're afraid of dying then.. don't go for the interviews! nobody's forcing anyone to. personal choice, darling.

we live our own lives and dreams. if we decide that we wanna work for CX and fly the colombo and hk routes, then so be it!

we're happy with it, ya?

:)

Naive Singaporeans..

You love Colombo so much and want to take the risk.. so be it.

Don't you get it?

1) Cathay was never in need of a Singapore base cos it operates all it's flights from the Hongkong base which is so near to Singapore.

2) There was a recent terrorist bombing at the military base next to the Colombo airport in March 2007.

3) Hundred over crew members and passengers were left stranded.

4) Police warns of further attacks. Possible bombings in the airport itself.

5) No Hongkong crew wants to fly the Colombo route, Cathay forced to suspend that route.

6) Suddenly Cathay needs a Singapore base.

7) Singapore-based crew only flys SIN-COLOMBO routes.

8) Ask yourself why..

its very subjective. there are reasons why people choose to apply for it. i believe most of them like it that they're able to be home everyday etc. i believe if they choose to apply for it, they would be diligent enough to do research on it. besides, applying for it and going for the interview doesnt mean they ARE going to sign up for it. maybe they just applied to check things out during the open house?

i believe that most of our fellow singaporeans are not daft, neither are they ignorant when it comes to applying for the position of a cabin crew.

u have provided the necessary information, but dont be too judgemental. u dun want doesnt mean ple dont want..

funky_punk,
if you wanna continue like this..
then i suggest that:
you don't breathe
don't eat
don't sleep
don't walk
don't run
cos every movement you make, you are risked!
you think colombo is the only dangerous place?
just think a few years back, terrorists wanted to bomb yishun mrt
planet earth is no longer safe, you know.
you might wanna migrate to another planet?
if not, you can choose to stop posting here, nobody cares.
if they do care about your comments, then..
haha. they can don't turn up for the interview.
personal choice, nobody forcing anyone.
good day.
