You did!! They want us to wear business attire for the departure flight!! ARGHH!!!

ANyways, you have to bring your basic necessities, running shoes and a bathing suit. Business suits, semi formal. I only have 2 formal skirts! Now have to buy a few more I guess. Hmm, make-up, sunblock, huge luggage so we can shop till we drop. haha. Kidding. ANyways, most of the essential stuff is listed on the handbook and the training brief. Bring a notepad with you wherever you go. So whenever you remember that you have to bring something there, just jot it down and you can refer to it when you are packing. It helped me:)

Enjoy your training gal!!

Hi,

So long never see you post here anymore. How have you been getting
on? What make you say that? Even like me also the same suitation
just like you. I have also try out for many different other airlines.
But still didnt get in also. Same for me also. Although sometimes,
i have this thought of just giving up and forget about dreaming to
be a FA one of these days.

Even if its really wont come true for me. But yet i still wont be satisfied
that why i cant even get in. Since others can get in . Why not me?
Thats why i will just keep on trying and as long you have the
determination. I believe soon you can also do it. Trust me. Must
have some faith of yourself. Dont just give up like that.

I can understand your feeling and how you have been going through.
Since you say its your dream. Then you should work hard and keep
on trying instead of just saying that maybe im not ready cut out to be
an FA. Though i know that applying for airlines. Also do have some
age limit for us. By the way, how old are you now?

Cant be older than me?

i am almost in my late 20s already.
although many of my friends and people i met think that i looked like I am in my early 20s, i doubt if they want to recruit people who looked young?

but come to think of it, if everyone has the money to travel around the world starting from TODAY till infinity. will they still really say that my dream is to be a FA or I really love to serve people and meet people..because you will meet people when you travel anyway. of course minus doing any work but just remain seated on the airplane and being served.

Hey catchmeifucan... I really hope you will not give up on your dream of becoming an FA. Every dissapoinment will just mould you into a wiser person, and Iam sure with much perseverance and determination, you will eventually get the job. Ive known some people who become an FA at their late 20s. So don't give up hope alright ! :D

Yupz I agree. With age and experience you become more mature and you know how to handle yourselves in this kind of situation. Which round do you usually not get the nod in? Maybe that would give you an idea on what you need to work on?

well i never get past the first round, how sad huh? :(

but apparently, someone i knew an acquaintance, she won a few beauty pageants, did not pass the first round too after trying SIA for a few times. I guess it is not really about how beautiful you are. We don't really know what they are looking for, but i should guess part of it has to depend on luck.

I really think it is my set of teeth! Since m^zd has mentioned to keep smiling, no one wants to see ugly set of teeth when u smile. I think i can only try when I am back with a set of straight teeth.

If you really think it;s your teeth, it can be fixed! There is hope so don;t say you give up! You can if you want to. But then again, not ALL FA have perfect teeth. Your smile has to be sincere and genuine and that's what the recruiters are looking for. There is no point in having straight white teeth if the smile is fake.

 you got a point there mz^d thanks for the support and confidence boost..hmm..but have you seen any FA with a set of untidy teeth before? like really bad and untidy kind..

I read 8 days magazine they did an interview with KYM NG, she mentioned that she tried SIA for 9 times, and on the 9th time she asked the interviewer what was wrong with her, they said that it was the gap in between her teeth and she filled it up and thus, got in on the 10th try. That magazine belongs to xmischax  we went for SIA interview together in April along with a group of girls, we all did not make it unfortunately. I think some of them went again for 3rd June and did not make it again.
Seems so tough.. :(

Hmm, could be your confidence and speaking abilities as well. It's not about looks all the time :) But I agree with everyone here, try as hard as you can!

MzD! I signed it =) And my employment letter also stated 23rd, fly 16th. But i spoke to Deborah and Lym, and they say since my medical is cleared, i can chnage it to 16th, fly 9th =) So, i am flying off 9th! Not excited about shopping, just wanna quickly learn to serve the flyers around the world! ^.^

And Catchmeifucan, it is really not the looks THAT much. More about how you dress up and speak. In short, about presentation =)

Good luck to all of us!
