How can I get my aussie ex husband to pay child support

Post by supersal » Wed, 28 Mar 2007 5:55 pm

hoping someone can help me, persuade my ex husband to pay child support. We have been divorced nearly 7 years, he lives in singapore, we live in sydney. He holds Aussie and British Passports. his name is xxxxxxx xxxxxxxx, he is shareholder and chief technical officer for xxxxxxx technologies, he is married to xxxxxxx and they have one childs xxxxxxxx as well as a step son xxxxxx. they live at the xxxxxxxxxxx.

Unpaid child support is now owed at over A$24,000 and i am at my wits end. Last year I had a nervous breakdown, I have 4 children all his, age 10 to 18. My 12yr old son is autistic, my 10 yr has ADHD and my 15yr is in rehab for a brain injury she received two years ago.

I havent received money for 5 months, i am about to lose my house. the debt of $24,000 has run up over the last 2 years. His wife handles all the accounts and refuses to pay maintenace. I closed down my company last year due to stress and am now on a pension. last week we had to have a food parcel from a charity to live on.

The stepson is at xxxxxx, the daughter goes to child care, they have a maid and xxxxxxx does not work. his commitment is collected by the child support agency, i have full legal custody and the wheels of collection are grinding very slowly, it may be another 12 months before the singapore authorities will do anything about it. court costs have exceeded $100,000. all orders for maintenance have been breached, my children have left their private schools becuasue he refused to pay

xxxxx has nothing to do with the kids, he hasnt seen them for 5 years and rarely contacts them he has forgotten they exist and is happy enjoying his comfortable life in singapore.

He tax return declared over S$230,000 last year ad his commitmet to his children is only A$26,000 per year. peanuts really.

If anyone has any clues to the way through the singapore beurocracy or if anyone knows xxxxxxxxxx and can persudae him to pay his maintenance all help would be gratefully appreciated. legally of course.
