i don't know about the height check, cuz i didn't go through it at all! haha which is a relief seeing they minus 1-2 cm each time. i'm 1.59 m, so between now and next recruitment i am skipping and stretching my way to 1.60m ++!
don't be disheartened girls. if you're too short, then maybe this career just isn't for you. the minimum is in lieu of the aviation laws after all. so there's no escaping that.
as for those who are truly 1.58m and above, try again next time! who knows you'll be lucky and the measurements would be right then.
and those who didn't qualify based on qualifications, get the basics (O levels, diploma, etc) before next recruitment cuz it is clearly stated that's the minimum, so we should just go by that and not look for loopholes. besides, a diploma/ O Levels will be useful for future job opportunities too, not just this one!
moiusmoo, next one we go together again la, set? haha.
gal did you know you have to have yr olevel if not you r rejected..coze that was what happen to me..they die die wan my olevel result coze my dip is not from the poly or local dip..hmm just dont get it coze my dip is rec world wide...(iata uftta) guess they just have too many ppl to pick on..
haha banz... ya of course i know about the minimum o levels... which is why i'm advising the girls here to go take it if they don't have it!
and i think some of you girls misunderstood me here... i didn't go through any interviews at all... cuz like i mentioned, the lady at the queue told me my notice period of december was too far away. so no height check, no round 1 etc.
and banz, i think its hard to criticise SIA's recruitment for at the end of the day, they're a world- renowned company and i guess it is their right to be selective. on what basis, we can't be too sure. while they do place a high premium on complexion, i don't think looks alone suffice. similarly for qualifications. thus a pretty girl is not guaranteed a place if she is not educationally qualified, and a smart girl with 1st class honours might not be given a place if they don't think she has the character to be an FA or a good skin complexion.
i mentioned this before... at the end of the day, while it is good to have a dream and all, we must be realistic at some point and start widening our options if this seems futile. recruitments are pretty regular so in between, why not improve yourself with language courses, customer service experiences? if you really want this, surely you all can find ways to attain it.
i think i mentioned this before... my mum who is 47 is taking private O's now so that she can improve herself and have a better O Level cert... if she can do it, so can you guys!
