Having recently moved here, I am considering buying a car and the resources online for getting information about car insurance are sadly lacking, hence my post here.
I am looking at 2 different cars and need some advice about what you think the potential insurance costs would be...?
Would the engine size of the car have a major impact?
Its age (if I buy a used vehicle)?
What about where I live?
What about my age?
What about my driving history?
Would where I keep the car be a factor?
Are there any other factors specific to Singapore that I would not know about?
Basically, what I am trying to find out is if I am going to be stung buying a 2.0 litre SUV over a 1.6 litre sedan. Would there be a significant difference in the prices? As I mention, it appears almost impossible to get an online quote here so any assistance is greatly appreciated.
(for reference the two cars are a 1.6L Mazda 3 and a 2.0L Kia Sportage - both used)
Thanks in advance.

Hi bats462003,
1) Engine cc does matter
2) Age does matter
3) Your address does not matter
4) Yes, it will be base on your DOB
5) Driving experience and accident history also does matter
Do drop me an email and I will get the full details from you and revert to you at soonest.
Thanks and best regards

I am working here and deal all the time with an insurance agent for my company cars...so far his rates are the best. Just so you know the bigger the car the higher the insurance, the older you are the lower the insurance. Driving experience is also important. You can call this guy and he will give you a direct quote...he really is very good and can even get you a cover note for your new car in less then one day. his name is Don Lim 93873311. Just tell him that Kirsty from EzPOST referred you, and if you dont like the price let me know and I'll talk to him. Its all about bargaining in singapore!
