Anyone pregnant with first child and not working?

Post by Nalini » Wed, 21 Mar 2007 11:55 am

Hi!
We recently moved to Singapore. I was going to get a job, but found out that I'm pregnant a couple of weeks ago. So I'm afraid it will be quite difficult to get a job offer in this situation..

Is or was anyone in the same situation? I thought I could do some - useful or unuseful :-) - courses in the meantime. I'm interested in arts, writing, sports and many other things. I'd be grateful for ANY advice or suggestion.

Thanks for your replies!

Nalini

Hi nalini,

I also found out last month that i am pregnant :) I am on my third month now and quite excited. I am currently working part time but i would be interested in meeting with you.

I am currently the only pregnant woman amongst all my friends so I have been trying to find a new group of friends to meet up with who are in a similar situation as me.

You can email me on [email protected] if you are interested.

Hope to hear from you.

Hello,

I also did not work when I got pregnant basically because I did not have one yet. I plan to get a job when my baby is about one-year old. There is actually nothing wrong with that. You can do so crafts work or embroidery at home.

Pregnant classes

Post by ssmng » Thu, 03 May 2007 1:22 pm

Hi,

You can go to Birth & Beyond at Tanglin Shopping Centre (next to Orchard Parade Hotel) #05-18 to attend prenatal yoga & exercise classes or attend their childbirth classes. They are very friendly. You can call them at 67361636 / 7.

Hi Nalini !

Am in exactly the same situation as you..moved to Singapore recently and found out I was pregnant before I got myself a job.

I found about some painting courses but yet to decide on which one to join.

I've also not give up completely on the job front, will try for something on contractual basis for another month before giving in. :)

You can contact me at [email protected]

Take Care !

Congratulations to you all!

I'm 6 months pregnant, but I'm working (I informed them when I was going through the interview process).

I met with my doctor earlier this week - she was a bit, I don't know, cold, maybe is the term.

I'll be delivering at Mt. Elizabeth. Anyone else?

Sorry, I don't have any suggestions as to what to do (besides sleep!) - but enjoy the time before the baby comes, as after that it gets very busy!! I'm PG with my second child.

Hey everyone,

I've been here almost a year and am now just over 6 months pregnant with second child (delivering at Mt Elizabeths).

I thoroughly recommend the adult courses at your local Community Centre.

There's a range of courses on - I'm currently learning Mandarin :

http://one.pa.gov.sg/CRMSPortal/CRMSPortal.portal

If you sign up for the Passion card, you'll get something like a $5 discount on the courses, which are extremely reasonable.

By the way - if anyone lives in the east coast - there is an organised group of mums that meets a few times weekly see

http://groups.google.com/group/ECM-Support-Group for details.

Take care and good luck
A.

Hi Nalini,

I've recently moved to Singapore too and now that my job hunt has proved unsuccessful (and really really frustrating!!), I hope to be in your situation soon too :-)

Did you manage to find any nice classes to join?

Take care,
Kavita
