HI
I am trying to find out some more information on reusable nappies. I have heard of a brand called bambino mio but am unsure of any others on the market that you can get here in singapore. Is there anyone using reusable nappies that could pass on any advice on good brands etc.
Thanks

dear Nickye
Am moving to Singapore next week with my family. Am 30 weeks pregnant and was trying to find web info re reusable nappies, laundry services in sg etc... Drew a blank so far ( apart from someone refering to poppolino nappies) but would be really interested in getting any info you manage to find yourself if you wouldn't mind.
How old is your little one ?
Good luck with your search

I use tots bots which are great - I got all of mine sent over from the UK as it worked out cheaper then ordering from Australia (that was a couple of years ago though so you would need to check current costs/shipping rates/exchange rates). They are pre-shaped so more expensive then the ones you fold but still cheaper in the long run than getting disposables (which I do use for travelling etc). I found the best site to search was the nappy lady - a UK based site. She discusses all the different brands and the advantages/disadvantages of each style and brand.
I've tried a couple of different ones - I prefer the ones without velcro so I use a 'snappy nappy' to hold them together. I also use the Mother-ease covers with poppers (again much better then velcro) which I also got from the nappy lady. I like these more then the tots bots covers. Tots bots now have some really fast-drying nappies if you dont want to use a dryer (we dont have a helper so I dont always have time to hang them out on the 'line'). One style is made from hemp and the other a cotton/poly blend I think. I ordered one of each a few months ago and they are both really good. The fleece liners are much better then the flushable paper liners IMO as they are softer on the skin and once the water goes through it stays on the other side of the fleece.
Anyway hope that helps - if you google there are lots of advice forums out there. You will find that you are very limited by what you can find in Singapore though. A friend found that one brand she was after was cheaper to have shipped over even though it was available here. I think your best bet is to order from overseas.

Hi,
Sorry, maybe I am confused! But if you are talking abt cloth nappies, like in Australia, where they are like small towels and you fold them and use pins etc....then they do have heaps of them eveywhere here....you just may not realise you are seeing them because they dont use towelling here for those types of nappies. They are made of a much thinner material, really good too as it's so hot over here. I found that if i used my Australian ones, the baby would get heat rash very quickly.. as for the local ones, there is a special way to fold them...different to how we are used to. So you may need to ask at the store or if you cant find out, you can always let me know. I give free lessons!!
