Thank you for the helpful reply Chakdhe Phatte!!
To me, "west coast" would mean the coast as in ocean / beach / sand / water over on the west side!!!
Confusion often happens when 'normal' things to some are not explained or made clear to others!!
The language barrier can often lead to misunderstandings too.
)
thanx again.

Hi jumping gene,
Just want to share with you this site regarding the ShiFT scheme
http://www.contactsingapore.org.sg/movi ... hift.shtml
I have heard some foreigners using this scheme for their flat hunting however flats that offered are mostly unfurnished, also depends on which areas you are looking into. But the good thing about this scheme is that you are renting from JTC and rents are paid to Town Councils. Less harrassment from the landlord, specially the UNREASONABLE one.
I found that staying in Jurong West or Clementi is likely going to fulfill for our needs. So I won't be looking for places other than these two. I am trying to downsize the options of areas we are going to stay so that we don't have to be taken a ride around the island by the agent.
