Emirates Recruiting on 31st March 2007
Hi all,
i am new to this emirates site? Btw, i like to ask how's the passing rate like for the last interview? i heard they prefer ex-sq girls over freshies. Is this true???
Also, what's the requirements? I am 20 this year, first year in uni. I hope to try out this coming interview but i have no idea if i meet the rqpt esp the age part.
Pls advise.
Thanks:)

maine: why r u asking about the 2nd interview when its long over? i think i got to emphasize this: it does not matter WHAT questions the interviewers ask because the crux of the matter lies in YOUR answer (how u answer).
flawa has mentioned everything for those emirates aspirants in this thread http://www.singaporeexpats.com/forum/ftopic35379.html.
you all got to know the RATIONALE behind all the questions they ask. i know some girls who just answer dead-penned 'yes', 'no' after every question and the very next thing, they got booted out. you must know how to strike a conversation with them and make them feel comfortable with u.. last but not least, dont ever lie, cos they know when ur lying and when ur not. they're trained and are VERY observant.

EK interview - its all about recruiters & ur lucky day !
Hi everyone,
I went for a Ek interview yesterday in Dubai (before this was the CV drop off where I was selected by a EK personel). As u all are aware of the rounds which fit in Ek interview - Group discusion is they biggest elimination round.
I have attended EK interview in India and now for the second time in Dubai, what I feel is - it all depends on the recruiter for that specific day and you LUCK - Very Very important.
I agree EK has some set guidelines however the people who r receuiting were cabin crew before they became recruiters so they set there own criteria's aswell as per the experiences they had in the aircraft. I say this because of certain reasons
1. I have many friends in EK
2. I have been to these interviews twice and been dropped in the same group discusion round.
First thing I know so many people who work for EK and believe me so many of them donot even believe in servicing, they skip call bells, be rude to people etc bla bla . . . . so where were the emirates recruiting criterias while selecting them?
Secondly the first time i was interview last year, the topic given was "The best person alive on this planet" and I picked Dalai Lama and spoke for him, I was never dominating, I placed my points for the whole group and they picked dalai lama. - but the people who were selected were amazing - One guy with hopeless dressing sense and couple more . . . .so I took up a job in dubai and got another chance yesterday for the interview. When the videos and all started they asked few questions; i was the only one who had done the homework so when the lady asked I raised my hand and answered her the best way we can.
The topic was "Children should be allowed to keep cell phones or not", few people were tryin to dominate few were quite and I raised my hand and spoke one sentence "As now a days we hear in Malls and airports everyday about lost children, I think a basic cell phone is a must for children in a age group above 6-10" few women just said Oh 6 is way to low and some said something else but i smiled.
After the results i was shocked to see i got dropped + everyone else apart from one women from BOMBAY who never spoke a word. ? ? ? ? I am serious this emirates interview is all about luck and the recruiter on the specific day, as i have seen people who r aggressive in emirates aswell as dumb so please no offense to anyone - Its all luck and people who have been rejected - It was just not ur day thats all . . . . there is nothing wrong with u.
The worst I feel about emirates interview - "they deny for a feedback" - there are such dynamic and good looking people in the interview who get rejected and their confidence is broken and i think Emirates should give a feedback atleast. I am not trying to sound rude . . .but i myself know I did pretty well on the day, I am decent looking, went nciely dressed, groomed as per the standards . . . . never lost my smile or the confidence but never was over confident.
Anyways All the best for the people who r going for Ek interview and people who r selected and undergoing training - Be carefull Ek has replaced objective questions with subjective in secutiry and safety . .. this will make the passinf mark of 80% much tougher . . . . and All of u who were rejected People please try in another airlines before u lose ur heart as this is all about luck - the recruiter who will like u will take u - My girl was rejected in a domestic airlines and made it thru emirates . . . .so enjoy . . . .Its about the charm u carry on the day and if that is what recruiters r looking for - Emirates receives 30,000 applications in a month so they have a lot of choice to pick from . . . . they don worry about ur career or feelings RELAX

mutleeyc Answer to ur question
Hi the truth is they will not accept ur online application if you are below 21 however U can never be sure about Emirates as When my girl attended her interview with emirates they rejected someone who had one month to turn 21 and when i went for the interview they let a girl pass who had 2 months to turn 21. So like i said before Emirates is all about Luck and the second question u mentioned . . . . .No u do not need any workEx Emirates (perhaps most of the companies) like fresh ppl to join so they can be groomed in their way but if u have time join a service industry job or training or something for few weeks (Hotels, call centers etc)
But one thing for sure donot depend on one Airlines apply in all as the day will depend on the recruiter so u need to take ur chances . . .please don make ur options limited by sticking to one airlines - I know TAx free is a big attraction however keep it straight . .. all the best
