Hi all,

I went for the Emirates and I gt through. I am kind of surprised because I did not get a chance to speak up, a couple of the girls are quite aggressive, esp one who is v. competitive. As for who are selected, think about 4 girls are selected, the competitive one did not get in, think she is a little too keen, she basically tries dominating the whole of the discussion, interrupting the girls twice I think...

I will just go for the interview and try my best.

hmmm, I guess it makes sense.
You wont want an FA who interrupts your passenger even before he finishes his request right?

septemberr, ester good luck for the rest of the rounds girls! keep us updated.

girls who didnt get in, just learn from the experience and apply them to your next interview alright?

Aiya *sighz* i should have spoken up fought 4 a chance to make myself be heard...

i have to agree that itz an overall package they are looking for:

"the airlines r looking for people who look pleasant and has great body posture and poise. they are also looking for people who know when to be a team player, yet be firm at the same time too. from grp discussions, they can tell if u r too domineering, over-assertive etc.. all in all, they want u to have the looks, brains, ability to speak in a tactful yet firm manner and most importantly, a wonderful personality. its an overall 'package' that they're looking for. not just focusing on one aspect."

well best of luck to those who made it to the 2nd round all the best :)

Hi All

Some of you might have misunderstood the way the interviewer conduct the interview during the walk-in.

When the group discussion is being conducted, the interviewer will walk around and take a look at all of the girls. And when you are talking, he is actually looking at other girls for their poise, reaction and etc.

So if you are going for the interview next time, you might wanna speak up for maybe once or twice. :)

As for attire, on Open Day, there's no need to be too formal. Smart Casual will do.

A total of 3 interviews. 1 on open house, 1 on screening, 1 on finals.

1st interview: On open house. Group discussion of about 15 girls. Those who got through are mainly those who had a pleasant deposit. Doesn't matter if they talked or not.

2nd interview: Screening tests one after the other. First was a group discussion of about 8-10 girls and guys. Followed by first elimination of the day (majority got eliminated here). Then, English test. You have 1hr for it. Tests you mainly on your understanding of the language, observation, and how you construct sentences (This was a very tricky test!). After the English test, everybody will go on to another group discussion. Tests you mainly on whether you can come into agreement with the rest, whether you have your own stand and if you do, are you able to put your point across to others etc.. Then they'll take your height and reach test is conducted, followed by the second elimination of the day.

The remaining candidates are those who will be going for the final interview. 7 candidates out of about 40 made it to the finals.

Given an application form and we're to fill in. And then all of the 7 are to do a multiple choice psychometric test of almost 150 questions. Out of the 150, there are 10 that tests you on your EQ (some maths questions and some vocabulary ones). Then you can go home!

3rd interview: Also the final interview. Mainly ask you on your past working experience.

=)

u can wear business suit (the standard attire for interviews). but alot of other girls got to the next round wearing really casual dresses and some, skimpy outfits. but i think u can forgo the coat and stockings. just a formal blouse and a formal pants or knee length skirt. =)

juniper: i think u can call sass atlantic to clarify since they r the agency for emirates. based on the previous interview, all i can say is they still recruit flight stewards, but v little.

they basically told the male applicants to leave their application forms and will call them when they are selected. but the next day during screening, i saw only 2 guys. but boy, were they gorgeous! ehehe~ =P~

maine: the photo that u submitted on the first day is alright. however, if u do make it to the final interview, you will be required to take a PROFESSIONAL shot (business suit, covered-toe heels, knee-length skirt) at a studio because your picture will be sent back to Dubai for reference. In addition, you need to develop 2 other pictures of urself in casual wear so they can 'recognise' u in Dubai if u r selected. (so might as well just go to a studio, get yourself a professionally done picture, and develop tons of it for this or other interviews. u get to remiscent it when u grow old too.. ehehe)

as for the 2nd day interview, it's grp discussion, elimination, english test, group discussion, elimination.

the sass atlantic ple will be there to give u all a briefing to prepare you girls/guys for the screening (what to do and what NOT to do etc..) so u need not worry too much. in fact, if u r selected to go on to the next round during open day, they will give u all a concise briefing on what to do and what emirates is expecting from u all during screening all the way to the final interview.

But... is Emirates recruiting soon? Someone pls bookmark this.. :-|
