Well, I have done it both ways. I had a car when my first one was born. Really needed a car then as we lived in Seletar Airbase at the time. There was no MRT and Taxi's almost had to be booked to get one to come out there. When my second one was born I lived in the Novena Area and actually sold my car when the 2nd one was only a couple of months old. I found that it was easier without a car (and we're talking 17 years ago) using the MRT. If you buy some of these for the small ones Joeysafe then the taxi's aren't much of a problems either.ffsgrelier wrote:good morning from sunny London
My little family is due to move to Singapore in 2 weeks time and we were given conflicting advice on whether we would need a car or not while living in Singapore.
We are due to leave near Clarke Quay, have 2 children (aged 7 and 5) and a baba due in a couple of months.
I believe the MRT not to be very child friendly from my readings in guide books and wonder how difficult it would be using public transport with buggy, kids ... I'd really appreciate anyone sharing their experience.
If a car is to be on the cards, what would be the idea propcedure. Renting, leasing , buying ?
Thanks for all your replies.
