Looking for short term accommodation

Post by shirinvj » Tue, 13 Mar 2007 12:56 pm

Hi,

We have been given limited notice to move to Singapore from Melbourne. We leave on the 27th of March which is on the same day that the movers take all our stuff. Problem is we dont have a place to stay and our stuff will take 4 to 5 weeks to arrive so we're wondering what to do in the meantime.

We have a budget of $2000 for accommodation allowance and found that Service Apartments cost a BOMB. How do we find a short term fully furnished accommodation for these couple of weeks till our stuff arrives and we can rent an unfurnished apartment. We also have 2 young kids aged 2.5 and 4.

Appreciate all advice.

Shirin

Hi Shirin,

my company paid a Hotel accomodation the first 4 weeks until I had an appartment. I have another colleage who came with me from Germany, same time, and he brought his family, wife and 4 yr old daughter, they also stayed in a Hotel first. Maybe check with your employer regarding a suite in a Hotel or something until you have a place?
we know what we are, but know not what we may be
