Price Guide on electronics in Singapore (online resource)

Post by audiojunky » Mon, 12 Mar 2007 1:46 pm

Greetings,

is there an online price guide for electronics in Singapore?

I came across this website ...

sg.hardwarezone.com/priceguide

However it is limited to computer hardware ... I was looking for prices on other elctronic items such as Plasma/ LCD TVs, music systems, home theater systems, washing machine etc. etc.

Just Im interested in same topic. Would like to want a digital camera, and would be useful to look any website for looking prices before going shopping.

Harvey Norman is in Singapore, I have looked their aussie catalog. Prices here are similar? More expensive? Any other similar website?

Mostly, prices will be 5 to 10 percent cheaper in the US. If you don't care about having to use an adapter, buy from a US mail order house. Not that many "deals" in Singapore.

Asdracles - that link you sent was very helpful. Unfortunately the range of products seemed to be quite small and nothing much on LCD and Plasma TVs.

Wish there was a Singapore version of amazon.com here - I used to buy almost everything from there.

Good references before going to crazy places as Sim Lim or Fu Nan :)

At least you can have your price reference before going there.

Thanks!

How is bargaining here in Singapore? Are things fixed price or can you bargain. I've heard that you can bargain (or should bargain) at Sim Lim but what about Fu Nan and places like Harvey Norman?

Be extra careful at SLS.

Don't go to Sim Lim Tower, the 1st and 2nd level are mostly con man.
Same goes for People Park Centre.

There are many trick they use, you really cannot avoid them all.

You can goes to Mustafa ( 10 min by bus from Sim Lim Square), their price are close to the bottom you can get locally. If you already know the price, you can call local electronics shop e.g. Paris Silk TEL : 64521593, they delivery for free and can be trusted to give a honest quote with only the model no and make.

Good price for home appliances

Post by kalbi » Wed, 11 Apr 2007 12:49 pm

I got this number from friend and he claimed that this is the best price you can get in town. The outlet is located at Bukit Merah, contact: 90081529.

The price will be 20% to 30% cheaper compare to Court, HN or Best, delivery and installation included.

I don't have any connection with the shop.

Please post the name and address of the aforementioned shop. Otherwise we might mistake it to be one of those mobile white vans scamming folks in parking lots and delete it.

Thanks,

Dear moderator,

I don’t know the name and address of the outlet as I haven’t call them yet. The contact was given by a trusted friend.

For those who intend to buy home appliances or compare prices, please do the forumers a favor by posting the name and address of the outlet.

Regards
