I always thought there were SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) for anything here in Sg. Well, not for tremors or earthquakes.Strong Eagle wrote:They evacuated the buildings at Suntec yesterday. 1000's of people milling about around the front doors in the shadow of the buildings.
Now how much good would that do? All that granite facing would come crashing down on the people standing around if it was a real earthquake.
You are obviously wiser; the fact is Singapore does not suffer from earthquakes, the country merely feels tremors the way Britain does on occasions (yes the UK). For those who travel, visit or live in Japan for example procedures during earthquakes are well known and warnings are posted in lifts that they should not be used during a quake.Asian_Geekette wrote: What surprised me was that people in the building would still use the lifts (elevators) to get downstairs instead of taking the stairs.
