Surfing???????

Ok 1st post so here it goes. I am moving to Singapore in about 2-3 weeks. Just finished my masters at the University fo Sydney and got a great job working for HP there. Though excited about the move there i was wondering is there anywhere to surf close by to Singapore, maybe a boat ride away or something to that Nature? I am an american fell in love with the coastal life here in sydney and the surfing and was trying to get away once a month for a weekend to surf.... Ideas????

dude,
you are just a lil late, the monsoon is over. When North East monsoon hits east coast of peninsula malaysia, good swells will hit the coastal line. Cherating provides the best surf spot, to my knowledge. I have been surfing there every week since last Xmas. Last weekend was the last weekend. And the sea is flat like pancake now. haha.... So you gotta wait till Dec.

Or if you re desperate, like me, we are going to Bali and transit to Nusa Lembongan or Sumbawa to cure our addiction. You can join us if you free... Sumbawa's wave is A frame, clean and clear water, and below is reef...
